November Favorites

Can you all believe that it is already December?! I can’t! Where has 2018 gone? November was a great month and I have a list of favorites to share with you!

I know I haven’t been very active on my blog, but that is all about to change! I have recently upgraded my plan with WordPress so I can do much more and I will certainly be taking advantage of it. With this and my podcast, I am SO excited to get to work and start sharing more of my knowledge with my readers!

Fitness

Dumbbell Dynasty

Dumbbell Dynasty is another Veteran/Active Duty military owned company that makes fitness apparel. I particularly love the hats and shirts! Another great part about Dumbbell Dynasty is the community. There is a camaraderie amongst the athletes as well as anyone who wears this brand.

One item I haven’t taken a photo in is the hoodie I recently got, but I like the fact that it isn’t meant to be worn in cold weather because I live in Arizona! I don’t need a thick sweatshirt, just an outer layer during this time of the year. If you find yourself on the website and wanting to support this amazing business, make sure to use the code FITWRITER at checkout to save a little bit on your purchase!

App

Perspective

Perspective is a journaling app that honestly makes journaling and tracking your mood easy! You can choose how you’re feeling that day, track whether or not you did things that make you happy, and then you can write a few sentences or answer a writing prompt. Then the app stores it for you so you can look back on it plus it provides insights. This is all free, too, but keep in mind that this app is run by donations so if you’re able to contribute then feel free!

I personally like being able to track my mood in relation to how many things I did that make me happy. I track whether or not I workout, read, write, and work on my blog or business. It really puts things into, well, perspective! See what I did there?!

Beauty

Cremo Shave Cream

Seriously, if you were like me and couldn’t find a shaving cream that you’re satisfied with, run to WalMart and grab this. Sure, it is a tad bit more expensive than regular shaving cream but SO. WORTH. IT.

The key to this shaving cream is following the directions on the tube. It is concentrated so you have to mix it with water, which is pretty easy to do in the shower anyways. It is like BUTTER. BUTTERRRRR.

A little bit of this stuff goes a long way, too. You get the closest shave, the smoothest legs, and it is so much better than regular shave cream. Also, when you go to rinse off your razor, it seriously just slides off along with the hair you just shaved off your legs. You don’t have to stand there and do weird things with the razor to get it clean again. How great is that?!

Moroccan Gold Series Treatment Mask

Where are my FabFitFun girls at?! This was one of the choices in the Winter FabFitFun box and it is GOLD. Pun intended?

I am terrible with my hair. I sleep in ponytails, I wear ponytails, and I have to pull it back in a super tight bun monthly. This causes a lot of breakage. The weather here is changing and it is even drier than usual, so that also makes my skin and hair dry. I only used this mask ONE TIME so far and it is amazing. I noticed a difference right away. It took care of my split ends and definitely revived my poor hair.

CLINIQUE Moisture Surge Face Spray

I hoard my Sephora Beauty Insider points. When I went in about a month ago, I was asked the usual, “you have ___ points, do you want to redeem them?” I had over 500 points and one of the samples was a Clinique moisture surge set. This face spray is absolutely amazing! It is winter so my skin is a bit drier than usual. I have also adjusted my skincare routine to include benzoyl peroxide and that requires more moisturizer so this spray has been a God send. If you struggle with dry skin like I do, look into this stuff! I plan to buy a full size bottle after my sample runs out.

Podcast

Potterless

It is no secret that I am obsessed with the Harry Potter books. Naturally, when I found this app about a man about my age who is reading them for the first time, I freaked out. I have been listening to it all month long and it has also inspired me to re-read the books.

The thing I like the most about this app is how it provides a different perspective. I personally was about eleven years old or so when I started reading the Harry Potter books and I thought absolutely nothing about it other than the amazing adventures and how I wish I was a student at Hogwarts. This app really adds in that adult perspective and asks questions like… How can Hogwarts stay open when it is so dangerous? Why does such an old wizard want to kill a young boy? Questions that you don’t actually think of when you’re eleven years old.

Not to mention, it is HILARIOUS. There have been times where I have been totally cracking up in the car and look to the car next to me and they are staring at me because I am alone and laughing.
