Self love is so important. I have actually come across people in my life who think that self love is selfish, but let’s think about that. How would it feel if one went through life absolutely hating themself? I feel like that would be absolutely miserable!
Of course, it is not easy to practice self love. We deal with a lot of, well, crap in that department. We are constantly being told what we should look like, who we should compare ourselves to, and so on, so forth. We are living in a society that tells us that looks are the most important thing but if you don’t look a certain way, then you are not beautiful.
Screw that! The fact that we are all different is what makes us beautiful. Our loving, kind, and genuine personalities are what make us beautiful. Definitely not makeup nor a model in a magazine.
Self love is an important practice and we all show ourselves love in different ways. I show myself love by taking care of my body and doing the hobbies and passions I love. I also make sure to eliminate as much negativity from my life as possible.
If you follow me on Pinterest, you know that I have a board dedicated to self love. I save quotes on there as well as ways to show yourself some love. Here are some of my favorite quotes!
“Self love is the greatest middle finger of all time.”
“Love yourself as much as you want to be loved.”
“When you love yourself and focus on what that means in your life, you send out a signal into the world. The world picks up this signal and sends you back the energy that you are putting out there.”
“Worry about loving yourself, instead of loving the idea of other people loving you.”
“The way you speak to yourself matters.”
“When you’re filled with self love, you make better choices.”
“I hope you love yourself enough to recognize the things you don’t like about your life and I hope you find the courage to change them.”
“Be patient with yourself. Self-growth is tender; it’s holy ground. There’s no greater investment.”
“As I began to love myself, my relationship with everyone changed.”
“You carry so much love in your heart. Give some to yourself.”
